Patron saint of writers

St. Francis de Sales was a passionate, prolific writer, so it's fitting he has been named the patron saint of writers. He is a source of inspiration for writers, poets, playwrights and bloggers, who would appreciate this modern rendition of the 17th-century saint drawn by Brother Mickey McGrath, an Oblate of St. Francis de Sales.

That one's my favorite! It sits at my writing desk. I say a little prayer to Francis whenever I experience writer's block.

Noting the slippers worn by the good St. Francis in this playful sketch, I couldn't help but think he should be the patron saint of all of us who work from home as well! Thank you for sharing this with us and starting my day with a smile.

as a writer, and as someone who wasn't raised in the Catholic religion (or any religion at all), i've been intrigued to learn about St. Francis and to read his words on this blog. thanks for showing me that there are always new things to be learned!
