I am often tempted to leap to the last lap when I should apply all my energy to the current lap. But St. Francis is rather unapologetic in saying that is a waste of time.
Such relevant advice!
I think St. Francis' patience came from a great sense of perspective. In an era that encourages multi-tasking, we can learn from his single-minded focus on the task at hand and the moment at hand.
For anyone who might dispute the simple wisdom of our Patron, quotes such as these should remove all doubt.
